Cam Newton Injures Hand at Practice, Patriots Continue to Build at OTAs

The New England Patriots are 100 days away from kickoff of their regular season. Today marked the second OTA session open to the media, and this team has a ways to go before the second Sunday in September.

Friday marked the second OTA session open to the media.
Story of the day coming from under center Cam Newton who finished practice on the sidelines due to an injury on his throwing hand.
According to multiple reports, Newton’s hand was checked out by the team’s trainer following a position drill.
Newton did not go to the locker room for treatment and stayed on the field but did not participate for the rest of the practice.
WR Nelson Agholor was asked about his QB’s hand but said he’d rather let cam about that.
He did speak on the importance of OTA’s and the connection he has with QB1.
“He just loves the game of football, and you see that when he steps on the field. He loves to work, and I appreciate that about him and I love working a long side him. You can do things individually but as a wide receiver you need to be next to the OC, next to the quarterbacks and I think you grow well that way,” Agholor said.
Belichick liking what he’s seen out of the former raider thus far.
“He’s a smart kid he has a lot of position flexibility and good skill and talent. Like everyone else he’s learning from scratch and learning a little bit of a new offense and how we call things and do things and all that but he’s doing well, it’s good to work with him,” Belichick said.
Patriots also adding some much-needed speed with the addition of WR Marvin Hall.

Hall, who runs a 4.28 40-yard dash, last played for Detroit in 2020.

While the Patriots are just laying the building blocks for a championship season another Boston team could be on the brink of one on the ice.

The Bruins are coming off a Game 3 win against The New York Islanders in the second round of The Stanley Cup Playoffs.
With Belichick wearing a Bruins hat and other players wearing B’s gear on before practice, The Patriots were showing their support.
Belichick showing a lot of interest in the series.
“Great win last night, it was a heck of a game…seems like they all are. We’re behind them and go B’s!”
