Car falls onto commuter rail tracks after crash in Boston

BOSTON (WLNE) – A car went off road in Boston after a crash early Wednesday morning and fell onto the train tracks below.

Officials say two vehicles were involved in the crash at 4:40 a.m. at Washington and Herald streets near the Massachusetts Turnpike in the South End of Boston.

One of the cars involved fell 40 feet onto commuter rail train tracks and ended up on its roof.

Four people inside the car were taken to the hospital for injuries.

Several lines have been experienced delays due to the incident including the Providence/ Stoughton line.

Delays of more than one hour were reported on some trains.
