Car struck by gunfire causes crash in Providence

On Monday around 1:42 PM, Providence Police responded to a report of shots fired near Broad and Portland Streets.

A 23-year-old woman told police that an unknown person had shot at her vehicle while she and another passenger were traveling north on Broad Street.

She stated that her windshield was struck, causing her to lose control and hit two parked vehicles in front of Portland Street.

All three vehicles involved were heavily damaged.

Police investigated the scene and determined that the damage was consistent with her reports.

No injuries were reported.

The incident is still under investigation.
