Cars stranded, basements flooded in New Bedford amid heavy rain
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Tuesday’s heavy rain left cars stuck and flooded basements in a New Bedford neighborhood.
An Orchard Street resident shared photos and videos of the severe flooding with ABC 6 News.

Her basement was inaccessible, with half of the stairs completely underwater.
Parked cars along the street were stranded in a few feet of water.
Video shows a black pickup truck attempting to drive through it as a silver car is almost completely submerged.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for most of Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts until 2 p.m.
The agency said to never try to drive through standing water, as drivers can become stuck in their vehicles.
People were advised to be aware of changing weather and to give themselves plenty of travel time.
