Head Coach Rick Harris commented on his freshman All-American: “The CCRI men's basketball team's players coaches are truly so proud of Desmond Williams being named First Team All-American. This accomplishment is due to Desmond's dedication to working hard and getting better on a daily basis. It is also due to his total commitment to his team. Desmond's attitude is one of ‘what can I do for my team first?' Not ‘what can my team do for me?' Desmond Williams is an excellent basketball player who more importantly is an even better young man. The Men's Basketball Program continues to be proud of how Desmond and all our young student-athletes represent themselves, our basketball program and the Community College of Rhode Island, positively, respectfully and maturely!”
