Census Shows RI’s Latino Population is Branching Out

The newly-released 2010 census data shows that Rhode Island's Latino population is growing, and branching out from just the urban centers.

Latinos now make up 12 percent of Rhode Island's population, growing 40 percent over the past decade.  Providence's Latino population rose by about 2.5 percent, but data shows that Latinos are starting to move out of old neighborhoods in Providence and Central Falls, and moving into new neighborhoods in places like Woonsocket, Cumberland and Lincoln.

ABC6 Reporter John Guice talked to several people who have recently moved out of more traditionally-Latino neighborhoods and has their story in tonight's Voice of the People report.
