School officials in Central Falls had a meeting Wednesday night to discuss the progress being made within the district.

There are a number of reform initiatives in place right now and they said they’re seeing some improvements.

However, officials agree they’re not happening quickly enough.

“The urgency that’s needed is no there. And so, I think I’m very happy to see members of the community coming out. I’m glad to see parents, elected officials because that’s what it’s gonna take, to have that sense of urgency here in Central Falls, to be able to turn our schools around,” Superintendent of Central Falls Schools, Victor Capellan said.

The school department is now working on an “accelerate achievement agenda” to help their students excel.

It’s set to be released in January.
