CEO and President of Southcoast Health removed by Board of Trustees, following domestic assault allegations
FALL RIVER, MASS. (WLNE)- Keith Hovan will not be returning as CEO and President of Southcoast Health, the hospital announced in an official email to its employees.
Hovan was appointed President and CEO of Southcoast Hospitals in July 2008.
Southcoast Health didn’t specify the reason for Hovan’s termination, but it comes after charges for an alleged domestic violence assault were dropped.
“We wish to inform you that the Board of Trustees has determined it is in the best interest of Southcoast Health for Keith Hovan not to return as the President and CEO of Southcoast Health. We thank Mr. Hovan for his past service,” the Board of Trustees said in the email obtained by ABC6.
Dr. Ray Kruger will continue in the role of Acting President and CEO, who has been known for his 34-tenure as a surgeon at Southcoast Health.
