The receivership in Central
Falls is officially over.
A letter was delivered to Central Falls Mayor James Diossa at
City Hall on Monday afternoon officially announcing the receivership dissolved.
In 2010 Central
Falls was taken over by a state receiver and went into
municipal bankruptcy.
Last fall a federal bankruptcy judge signed off on a five
year plan to help the cash-strapped city recover.
Today authority over the city and its finances has been
officially returned to the city's elected officials.
