Governor Chafee signs “Good Time” bill into law

Murderers and child molesters will no longer be able to get out of prison early for good behavior. Governor Chafee has signed the so-called “Good Time” bill into law.

Violent criminals are now barred from earning credits for behaving well.

The new law is called Jason's Law, in honor of 5-year-old Jason Foreman, who was killed by Michael Woodmansee.

Woodmansee was released last year, after serving 29-years of a 40-year sentence.
