SWANSEA, Mass. (WLNE) – The Swansea Mall, which closed its doors in March, has a new tenant.

His Providence Church, a non-denominational parish, has secured a 12-month lease of the location formerly occupied by Macy’s department store.

At this time, the church is the only tenant in the now-shuttered mall complex, but is still waiting on the green light from the Planning Board to secure the occupancy permit needed to begin holding services indoors.

In the meantime, His Providence has held weekly Sunday services in the parking lot.
