Former Providence Mayor, Buddy Cianci, has cashed out more than $200 thousand dollars in contributions he made to his city pension.

Cianci says that is the money he put in during his years as mayor. He also said he’s abiding by his promise to never seek taxpayer funded pension dollars from the city.

In taking out the money, he agrees to waive his right to seek a pension in the future. It was something he repeatedly said he would do during his campaign for mayor last year.
