Cicilline traveling to Ukraine, amid standoff with Russia

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Rhode Island Congressman David Cicilline is traveling to Ukraine, as tensions escalate between western nations and Russia over the possibility Vladimir Putin will order an invasion of the country.

Cicilline departed overseas on Tuesday, with members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

First stop for the congressman is Burssells for a meeting with representatives from NATO, then to Kyiv in Ukraine.

The delegation will meet with senior Ukrainian officials to discuss the security situation and reinforce U.S. support for Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
