Citation ordered for Block Island Ferry lifted

NEW SHOREHAM, R.I (WLNE) – The COVID-19 compliance order imposed against the Block Island Ferry was lifted on Monday morning.

The ferry was cited on August 21 for not complying with the Governor’s coronavirus guidelines.

The guidelines include ensuring guests wear masks and practice social distancing.

While the ferry was still allowed to operate, it was ordered to shut down all food and beverage services until guidelines were met.

Foodservice has since resumed.

The citation order can be viewed on the Department of Business Regulation website.
