The Providence City Council voted unanimously Tuesday in favor of an ordinance aimed at keeping minors out of strip clubs.

The ordinance would immediately shut down any strip club in the city that employs under age strippers or allows prostitution.

The vote was made at a special meeting called this afternoon.

Mayor Taveras proposed the ordinance after two underage girls were found stripping at a local club.

He is expected to sign the ordinance into law this week.
