FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – Fall River restaurants will have the opportunity to rent space heaters in effort to continue outdoor dining.

In September, Fall River was awarded funding through the Massachusetts Shared Streets and Spaces Grant Program, helping the City purchase outdoor space heaters.  These heaters will provide each restaurant with the ability to offer outdoor dining in effort to continue business through the colder months, following COVID-19 guidelines.

After national shortages and backorders delayed the arrival, the City is now able to properly distribute the heaters.

The City of Fall River now has around 30 outdoor space heaters that will be available to restaurants, free of charge, on a first come, first served basis.

To reserve heaters, restaurants are told to contact Director of Facilities Maintenance, Chris Gallagher at (508) 922-6715 or (508) 324-2226.
