Ahead of his big announcement Tuesday, Clay Pell posts a YouTube video on his campaign web site detailing his plans to run. In the video Pell says he and wife Michelle Kwan have traveled the Ocean State and talked to many frustrated people. Pell says he will lay out his plan for rebuilding the state’s economy in the months ahead.

Pell is the grandson of late U.S. Senator Claiborne Pell served in the Coast Guard, worked on the White House National Security staff, and with the U.S. Education Department.

Pell will face Providence Mayor Angel Taveras, State Treasurer Gina Raimondo, and Todd Giroux in the democratic primary.
