Clean snow off your car or face a fine

Drivers are being urged to clean off their cars from the recent winter weather.

“It's a little nerve-racking, you are afraid it's gonna hit your windshield and blind you and you won't be able to see,” said Doreen Ricci, North Providence.

“Scary cause you don't know if there is something heavy on that'll bust your window or anything,” said Dawn Cote, Providence.

Rhode Island State Police are cracking down and want people to clean off all the snow.

“If there is a significant amount of snow on the roof and a Trooper sees it people can be stopped and tickets with an $85 fine,” said Rhode Island State Police Captain Frank Castellone.

State Police have already issued tickets for the snow this year.
