2 Stowaways Found on Boat in New Bedford

ABC6 News is covering breaking news out of New Bedford, where 2 stowaways were removed from a ship.

According the US Coast Guard, 2 Palestinian males were hiding away on the “Prince of Sound.” The Coast Guard intercepted the boat 3 miles offshore, where they found the men hiding amongst some crates on the ship.

The stowaways were found by one of the ship's crew members on Thursday, but the coast guard was unable to board the boat until Saturday due to the weather conditions.

The 2 Palestinian men have been taking in, and Customs and Border Protection agents are briefing them at this hour.

The ship's voyage originated out of Gibraltar, and was flying a Liberian flag. It's cargo contained citrus fruit.
