Coast Guard Responds to Collision Off Block Island

BLOCK ISLAND, R.I. — Multiple rescues were made at sea after a collision off Block Island Tuesday morning.

The US Coast Guard received a call from the captain of a 40-foot lobster boat, named Squeeze Play, saying the boat had collided with a yacht named Lucia.

The yacht began sinking shortly after the collision.

Several crew members and passengers were helped off the vessels and brought back to shore.

No injuries were reported.
