Cold front to bring cooler air; winter feel Thursday morning

A cold front is making it’s way down across New England tonight, bringing with it some clouds but almost no rain. A Fire Weather Warning remains for Wednesday.

The front’s passage will usher in much cooler air. Highs Wednesday will still be in the 60s with bountiful sunshine, but Wednesday night will feature a wintry chill.

Thursday morning’s low temperatures will be in the 30s across the board, with Providence challenging a 40 year old record of 35°!

Record Cold

It will quickly warm on Thursday to the low 60s with sunshine continuing into Friday.

The weekend rain still remains, but the timing has shifted earlier. Saturday now looks for the best bet of rain, with conditions clearing out on Sunday.

Long Range Futurecast

Southern New England is looking at around an inch of rain from this event, which is much needed considering the very dry first half of May.
