PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Ilizia Shlesinger, the award-winning comedian, will be in Providence this weekend for her comedy tour, Iliza Shlesinger: Back in Action Tour.

Shlesinger attended Emerson College in Boston and has been featured in many films and series since.

She has five Netflix specials with a sixth one coming out next month.

A fan-favorite Netflix special is Elder Millenial, where she talks about what it’s like being 35.

ABC 6 News interviewed Shlesinger and talked about everything from social media to women’s accessibility to comedy in history.

We talked about the popular social media platform TikTok, and what it is like being a millennial on the app.

“It’s not a platform for millennials. Gen Z is very clear in just being so mean to us for no reason, but lay of Gen Z, we are not your parents, we are your older sisters — you borrowed our jeans, said Shlesinger.

When asked what she is most proud of she said, “I’m really proud of this one. My new special is called Hot Forever and it’s out October 11.”

Oct. 11 is a busy day for Shlesinger because, in addition to her new special, her new book All Things Aside comes out.

The book features quotes from many people from Jimmy Kimmel to Ted Sarandos.

When asked what she hopes the audience takes away from her show, she said, “Just know that this stand-up is for you, and you deserve to feel seen and heard.”
