Mayors from East Providence, North Providence and Johnston are set to announce a decision on mutual aid Monday morning. In the past, they have said they can no longer afford to send mutual aid to Providence.

They say the agreement is not so mutual because Providence rarely responds to their communities. Last month, they said they would give the city a few weeks to decide whether they would compensate them for the mutual aid calls.

The announcement Thursday is expected to address whether or not the city responded to their request and what they plan to do if not.
