Connecticut state trooper dies after cruiser gets swept away in flood waters

Connecticut State Police have identified the sergeant who was killed after he was swept away by floodwaters in Woodbury.

According to police, Sgt. Brian Mohl was still in his cruiser when floodwaters swept it away.

The 26-year veteran of the department called for help at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday as his cruiser started taking on water.

Connecticut State Police say it took hours to find him.

There have been at least 46 deaths linked to flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Ida in the Northeast.
