Cooling trend on the way
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — We have elevated fire weather concerns for today. Dry and warm today with temperatures on the rise; mid 80s for inland areas, 60’s and 70’s along the cape and coast due to an afternoon sea breeze.
Air quality index is rated today “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” and that’s because we have seen fires burning around our area all week and that combined with the WSW wind our ozone levels are in the UNHEALTHY range. If you have respiratory conditions such as asthma, you may want to limit your outdoor exposure today.
As the temps heat up it might be tempting to get a beach day in, but know the water is much colder than our air temperatures. Our water temps are running about the mid-40s.
Cold from moves in dropping temps in the 60’s for Saturday. Scattered rain showers move in Saturday night.
