NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — A Newport man seen in a video fighting with police “did knowingly engage in threatening and tumultuous behavior,” according to court documents obtained by ABC 6 News.

According to the document, Dennis Engelson is facing three misdemeanor charges following Sunday’s incident.

A police report noted that Engelson, who’s 22 years old, “did obstruct Newport police officers while [officers] were in the execution of their duty, in that [Engelson] did hinder, delay, shout at, crowd against, and otherwise obstruct [officers] while they were attempting to investigate.”

Engelson resisted arrest, court documents showed.

The 22-year-old was one of two men involved in the incident.
