Coventry 2-year-old unresponsive after being pulled from swimming pool

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Coventry Police Department said a 2-year-old was brought to the hospital in serious condition Friday night.

Chief Rick Heise said that police responded to Tero Drive around 7 p.m. alongside the Anthony and Central Coventry Fire Departments.

Heise said police and fire crews found a 2-year-old male, unresponsive in an above ground swimming pool.

Firefighters performed CPR and other resuscitating efforts before the victim was transported to Kent County Hospital in serious condition.

Heise said the young boy was later brought to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
