Coventry man arrested after an altercation involving a gun

COVENTRY, R.I (WLNE) – A Coventry man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly point a gun at two man during an argument.

At approximately 12:10 a.m on Sunday, Coventry police responded to a report of a white male pointing a gun at two other males during a verbal argument in the area of Pulaski and Washington Street. 

The department says officers spoke with the two adult males, who advised that the male resident, now identified as 35-year-old Christopher Digman, confronted them as they were driving past his house.

Police say after an exchange of words, Digman pulled a handgun out and pointed it at them. The victims were able to leave the area uninjured. 

Digman was located and taken into custody. 

The detective division responded to the scene and executed a court authorized search warrant of Digman’s residence. 

During the search, police say they recovered several weapons, one of which is believed to have been the weapon used in the assault. 

Digman was held overnight to appear before a bail commissioner and will be facing two counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, and Carrying a Weapon While Intoxicated.
