Coventry Police discover severely malnourished dog

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) –Coventry Police are seeking information from the public after officers discovered an extremely malnourished dog that had to be euthanized. 

Coventry Police responded to the area of Sherwood Valley Road around 10:45 p.m. Saturday for a report of a sickly dog seen roaming the streets.

Officers on scene located the dog, a neutered middle-aged male pit bull, gray in color, and observed that it needed immediate veterinary attention.

Coventry Animal Control transported the dog to Ocean State Veterinary Specialist, where after careful observation and consideration, the dog was humanely euthanized due to its condition and level of suffering.
