Coventry schools to see increased police presence over social media trend

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE)- The Coventry Police shared on their official Facebook page that they will be increasing police presence in all schools due to the awareness of a “concerning” social media trend that threaten schools nationwide.
Like many other schools and police departments choosing the same measures, there is no specific threat to Coventry schools, but for the safety of students and staff, any concern over the threat will be taken seriously.
The social media posts specifically refer to Friday, December 17, but the police presence will remain going towards holiday break.
