COVID-19 field hospital in Cranston will reopen as cases climb

CRANSTON, RI (WLNE) – With COVID-19 cases on the rise again in Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee says Rhode Island will get ready for anything. Starting by dusting off the Cranston Field Hospital on Sockanosset Cross Road.

Goc. McKee says there’s pressure on Rhode Island Hospitals in terms of staffing.

McKee stressed that this opening is happening out of an abundance of caution.

No exact date was given for its re-opening.

The field hospital closed back in early March as cases decreased.

There are currently 115 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in the state.
