COVID-19 hospitalizations in Rhode Island fall to 37 Thursday, lowest since March 2020

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) – The number of people in the hospital with COVID-19 in Rhode Island has fallen to its lowest level since the early days of the pandemic.

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) reports there are just 37 people in the hospital with confirmed cases of COVID-19.

That’s the lowest single-day total since March 2020

RIDOH  also reported about 40 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, a daily positivity rate of 0.7%, and no new virus related deaths.

Nearly 585,000 people in the state have now been fully vaccinated against the disease.
