A federal lawsuit was filed Tuesday against Cranston Mayor Allan Fung.

A former captain with the Cranston Police Department, Todd Patalano, accuses Fung in his role as director of public safety; along with former police chief Marco Palombo and other police officials of violating his civil rights.

In court documents Patalano claims he was harassed by his superiors about the procedures he followed when investigating civilian complaints.

Patalano was put on Paid administrative leave for two years during the investigation making almost $200,000 during that time.
