Cranston man saved by strangers back home from the hospital

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE): A Cranston man is back home from the hospital after a few strangers are credited with saving his life.

On Sunday, Jim Ladouceur had a heart attack while riding his bike on Post Road in North Kingstown.

A stranger at the time, Mindy Conway, was driving by and immediately stopped her car and blocked traffic.

ABC6 News spoke to Conway on Monday and she said she didn’t think twice about stopping.

Conway is a registered nurse at Rhode Island Hospital and performed CPR on Ladouceur, with the help of other good samaritans, until first responders got there.

Paramedics told Ladouceur’s wife that if it wasn’t for these strangers, her husband wouldn’t have made it.

On Sunday night Ladouceur was released from Kent County Hospital.

His family said those strangers will forever be their heroes.
