Cranston police arrest man who allegedly stole American flag from city hall

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Police Department said they arrested a man in connection to the theft of a flag from city hall.

Police said 39-year-old Emanuel Joia, of Pawtucket, was arrested Friday for larceny under $1,500, vandalism and malicious injury to property.

According to police, a person stole an American flag and also did acts of vandalism just after midnight Thursday.

They said their person of interest came from the area of Park and Reservoir avenues.
