Cranston police investigating series of car break-ins

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE)- The Cranston Police Department is investigating a series of car break-ins that happened Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The department said in a Facebook post that the break-ins happened in the Phenix Ridge Drive neighborhood.

Several unlocked vehicles were rummaged through and a variety of items were stolen, including one car that happened to have the keys inside.

Police are encouraging all residents to lock their vehicles and take any valuables outside of the car.

Anyone who has had their vehicle broken into should contact police.
