Cranston police warn of recent car break-ins in Garden City area

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Cranston police warned residents on Sunday of a recent rise in car break-ins in the Garden City area.

Since Aug. 20, there have been 18 reports or calls for car break-ins and larcenies in the area.

According to police, the incidents happen during the overnight hours in the Pontiac Ave corridor from Rolfe Square south to Garden City Drive.

Most of the cars were unlocked at the time they were broken into, police said.

Police are reminding drivers to remove all valuables from their cars and to lock their doors.
