Cranston Republican City Committee endorse Ward 6 candidate

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Republican City Committee said they have endorsed Anthony Melillo in the election to replace the seat left vacant by disgraced former councilor Matt Reilly.
Representatives of the party said they were encouraged by Melillo’s enthusiasm to win the election set for October 3.
“We all recognize Anthony Melillo as an outstanding candidate for city council,” Mayor Kenneth Hopkins said.
Melillo is currently the representative for Ward Six on the Cranston School Committee and has said his focus, if elected, would be on public school and childhood development matters.
“I will bring the same passion and concern to the city council on an even broader range of city issues,” Melillo said.
The Cranston Democrats have also announced their candidate for the election.
