Crash in Norfolk leaves Taunton woman dead

NORFOLK, Mass. (WLNE) — The Norfolk Police Department said that it responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash Friday morning.
Chief Timothy Heinz said officers responded to the area of Needham Street and Main Street around 10 a.m. after receiving reports of a serious crash.
First responders discovered a sedan being driven by a 54-year-old Taunton woman had crashed into a tree.
The Norfolk Fire Department transported the woman to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Heinz said the identity of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification of next-of-kin.
The crash is still being investigated by police.
