Providence apartment fire displaces multiple families, Red Cross assisting

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Crews responded to a multi-alarm fire at the Chatham Village apartment complex Saturday afternoon.

Rescue crews told ABC6 the initial call came in around 2 p.m.

Fire officials said there were no injuries, but a total of 16 units were damaged.

The Red Cross said they are helping the 22 families consisting of 34 adults and 24 children, after the fire displaced them from their homes.
