Crews battle multi-floor fire in Attleboro home

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE)- Attleboro Fire and multiple mutual aid companies battled a major house fire on James Street Friday night.

The two-family home sustained heavy damage to the interior of both units and extended to parts of the exterior.

Emergency vehicles, including Attleboro police, were positioned to block off neighboring streets.

Both levels of the building are uninhabitable, and the occupants have been displaced.

It is unknown if anyone was injured at this time, but ABC6 News Crews spoke to the occupants of one of the units who told us that one of their family members were home when the fire started but were able to get out safely, including their 13-year-old dog.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and it remains under investigation.  It is currently unknown how many people in total are displaced.
