Crews recover truck hours after it plunged into water off East Providence park

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — East Providence fire crews are bringing a truck ashore hours after it plunged into the water at Bold Point Park early Thursday morning.

It’s unclear if anyone was in the car.

Emergency crews were called to the park for a reported vehicle in the water at about 5:30 a.m.

An ABC 6 News crew on scene saw dive teams enter the water after crews searched the surface for any possible occupants.

Three boats were initially sent out, and the U.S. Coast Guard later arrived.

Rhode Island State Police and surrounding fire agencies including Warren and Warwick assisted in the response.
