CVS Charity Classic Adds Four Big Names for June Event

New Additions Include LPGA Star and 2012 Ryder Cup Captain

WOONSOCKET, Rhode Island (May 19, 2011) – The 2011 CVS Caremark Charity Classic has added four golfing greats to its roster: Paula Creamer, Matt Kuchar, Zach Johnson and Davis Love III.  These top-performing PGA and LPGA Tour pros will be part of a field of 20 professional golfers who will compete in the June 19-21 charity golf tournament at Rhode Island Country Club.

Creamer, one of the top female golfers in the world, will make her inaugural appearance at the 2011 CVS Caremark Charity Classic.  Creamer earned her first career major and ninth LPGA victory at the 2010 U.S. Women's Open. Kuchar, the PGA Tour's leading money winner, is currently ranked 15th in the FedEx Cup standings.  He has already posted six Top 10 finishes this season including placing third at the WCG-Accenture Match Play Championship.  He continues to build on his phenomenal 2010 season which included winning the Barclays, placing second in the Bob Hope Classic and placing third in three other tournaments.  This will be Kuchar's third appearance at the CVS Caremark Charity Classic.

Also joining the ranks of players committed to the 2011 CVS Caremark Charity Classic is 2012 Ryder Cup Captain Davis Love III, a 20-time PGA Tour winner, and Zach Johnson, a seven-time PGA Tour winner including the 2007 Masters. This will be their eleventh and third CVS Caremark Charity Classic appearance respectively.

“The CVS Caremark Charity Classic is pleased to welcome Paula, Matt, Davis and Zach to Rhode Island and this great event,” said Eileen Howard Boone, Tournament Chairwoman, CVS Caremark Charity Classic.  “These elite golfers are great additions to the field which features some of the top names in golf who come together to support the vital work of our nonprofit partners across the region.”
