Dartmouth Police seeking man who crashed a stolen car

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) – Dartmouth Police are searching for the suspect responsible for crashing a stolen car early Sunday morning.

Just before 5:00 a.m. Sunday Dartmouth Police officer observed a Ford F150 truck failing to stop at a stop sign located on the corner of Elm Street and Bridge Street.

The officer continued to monitor the vehicle and relay information to the station before the vehicle traveled off the road way on Smith Neck Road and crashed.

Police said the driver, a thin white male with dirty blonde hair and dressed in pajamas, exited the vehicle and fled into the woods.

Dartmouth Police deployed a K-9 unit to search the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

According to Police the suspect stole the truck from a Degaris Avenue resident after breaking into their home and stealing the keys.

The suspect is still at large and the incident is under investigation.
