Daytime bridge inspections to cause delays in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said Tuesday that daytime bridge inspections will begin in New Bedford.

MassDOT said between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday, crews will perform inspections on Route 6 over Route 18 north that will require temporary traffic changes.

Officials said appropriate signage will be up, detailing the route that commuters should take.

Drivers should expect delays, reduce speed and use caution when traveling through the affected area.
