DCYF: Maltreatment contributes to near-death of Pawtucket infant

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE)- The Department of ChildrenYouth and Families disclosed on Friday the near-death of an infant from Pawtucket.

In a release, the DCYF says the incident occurred on January 8.

The department became involved but says they had no prior involvement with the family.

Investigation determined maltreatment as a contributor to the near-death, according to DCYF.

No further information could be released due to confidentiality laws.
