A man and a woman in New Bedford have been arrested on animal cruelty charges.

Police say they found more than two dozen dead and living animals, mostly dogs and cats and some reptiles, inside the home on South 2nd Street. Animal Control tells ABC6 News that the live animals they did find were in extremely poor condition.

23-year-old Sabrina Harding and 24-year-old Jake Brousseau were arrested and charged with animal cruelty.

Animal Control Officers received a tip Wednesday night after a neighbor noticed a foul odor coming from a hallway in the home.

A complaint was made months ago that the two were hoarding animals, buying and selling them on Craigslist.
