PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police said a 26-year-old Fall River man was fatally stabbed outside of Cadillac Lounge over the weekend.

Maj. David Lapatin said officers responded to the lounge at about 1 a.m. Saturday for a disturbance.

Around that same time, Lapatin said police received a call that the stabbing victim was being taken to Rhode Island Hospital. There, the 26-year-old died.

Lapatin said three people followed the man and his friends to the parking lot. One person allegedly confronted the 26-year-old and stabbed him.

Police said after the stabbing the three people left in two cars: a white Cherokee and a grey Hyundai.

It’s unclear if any arrests were made.

The chairman of the Providence Board of Licenses, Dylan Conley, said it is unclear whether the altercation began inside of the club.

Conley said Cadillac Lounge sent over surveillance video to Providence police.

Later Saturday, the strip club was shut down for 72 hours after the Board of Licenses held an emergency hearing.

The Board of Licenses will meet again Wednesday to further discuss the stabbing.
