Suspended Cranston Police Captain Stephen Antonucci will not be prosecuted for his roll in a parking ticket scandal.

Antonucci struck a deal with the city to drop the charges against him as long as he agrees to resign from his post and stop pursuing a lawsuit he filed against the city.

Cranston also agreed to let Antonucci keep all the money he made after being put on paid leave last April.

In 2013, Antonucci played a part in a massive parking ticket sweep in the districts of two council members who voted against a new police union contract.
