Spring wild turkey hunting permits go on sale Friday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management said Wednesday that spring wild turkey hunting permits go on sale on April 1.

The 2022 youth hunting season, for ages 12 to 15, will be open from April 18 to April 24. Participants must have a junior or resident hunting license, and a spring turkey permit.

The 2022 paraplegic hunter turkey season runs from April 23 to 24. Hunters must have a spring turkey permit and a permanent disability hunting license.

Legal shooting hours will be 30 minutes before sunrise to 1 p.m., said Jay Wegimont, a Department of Environmental spokesperson.
